Cleaning without chemicals:

Many household use an array of cleaners in their home. What many of us do not realise is that these cleaners contain a cocktail of chemical nasties that are invading the air that we breathe.

Is it really necessary for these substances to emit such an overpowering aroma? What chemicals are in this aroma?

What about replacing your cleaning products with items like vinegar and baking soda from your kitchen cupboard?

Plug-in air fresheners are commonly used around the home and in cars. Wouldn’t it be better to use natural air-fresheners – a bunch of lavender or essential oils.

Natural cleaning products:

You can also replace chemical products with natural cleaning products.

Microfibre cleaning cloths:

If you prefer to clean without using any products at all, microfibre cloths are very good for cleaning all surfaces including mirrors. Unlike other cloths, the fibres in the cloths pick up all the dust and dirt leaving a streak free finish. They are particularly quick on mirrors and melamine surfaces. Even on cars!

Microfibre floor mops which make fast work of wooden floors.

In NZ, microfibre cloths are now readily available in most supermarkets, Mitre 10, Bunnings and The Warehouse.
